Duck hunting clubs?

I live in western Washington and am really tired of fighting for public land blinds... Are there any good (affordable) duck clubs out there looking for members?

Corky Smith ran a duck club for years in the Lincoln Cr valley west of Centralia. He died just a couple years ago and I don't know what's happened to the 'club' and all the areas he used to lease. Anybody here know?

If I lived in Everett I sure wouldn't be joining a club down in Lewis County. I'm sure there are a few clubs in Skagit County and that would probably be your best bet. Check on craigslist occasionally and also the "Duck Hunters Refuge."

I would like to know what your definition of "affordable" is...after a couple of years you could likely afford a boat, and/or if you took some time off mid week when the weather is just right you still can have bad ass hunting on public land...

I know of a private club on 2000 acres, cost:

$3000 per year in dues

I say affordable because I did some research on a club just outside of monroe and they were quoting prices in the 5k + range.... I am looking at getting a nice boat, I think that would free up a lot of remote hunting areas.

I have a similar problem up here in bellingham with finding a affordable duck club. Instead I am trying to get a few people together and lease out some grass fields or ponds for the next hunting season.

I was a member at Corky's Lincoln Creek hunt club for several years.  I never met a guy who was more fair to each an every member...didn't matter if you where a member for 20 years or the first year.  He rotated blind assignments and treated every member equally.  Had some great shoots there and of course blue bird days happen to all duck hunters. 

The place was always well managed, and the blinds were very good. 

He passed away but I hear his son is keeping the tradition going.  I miss hunting there!

Get a boat.  You can then hunt Seaducks, Brant, Widgeon, Mallards and any other specialty duck in peace. One year on a club is the price of a boat, two years in a club is the price of the serious Waterfowler Boat.
