How to mount a scope & offset red dot?
« on: March 03, 2011, 07:54:40 PM »
I've got an r15 with a 6-18 x 40 scope and wanted to mount a red dot for close encounters.  Any ideas on how to mount them to the side?  I've seen a few mounted at 45 degree angles that look awesome.  Does the red dot clear the turret on the side?  I'd love any suggestions.

I've got an angle adapter on one of my ARs to mount a Surefire G2 flashlight.  The AR has a Leopold 1x3 scope, which has a short section of Picatinny rail on top, and the adapter puts the light off to the side enough to make scope adjustments accessible.  I think I got the angle adapter from YHM.  Yankee Hill Machine.  Sorry, don't have the URL.  You'll have to googlit.
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Bernie Madoff did it, it's called a "Ponzi Scheme"
When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"
