Just wondering how you would feel about catching and then releasing those trout the next tome that you go to that small pond that trout are not supposed to be in. Those are some awesome fish and the two middle ones are in a spawning stage getting ready to replentish your honey hole. No bait and you may have years of fun maybe keeping one or two for dinner every once in a while. You probably already do this and just wanted to fill the smoker I bet it was awesome (GREAT FISH)
Lead em if they're running.

we've been fishing this pond since january of 09. These are the only fish we've ever kept. Never smoked fish before and wanted to try it. It seems over populated with smaller trout already so we kept 2 females and 2 males so the other trout could have more food. Trust me there's plenty more that size in there as well. All we use is spinners mostly. No bait.

That is awesome and you are right sometimes in small water when there are too many fish the big fish can't get really big due to compitition for food.

my younger brother and my buddy went today and caught and released six big ones. The biggest was a 22 inch male. I don't have the pics. My brother showed me from his phone. It's an awesome pond and idk how other people don't know about it. Never have seen anyone fish it. People duck hunt it though. That's how I found it.
