He said "WORK" Lol. Not "Toy" Lets put my 3500 pound camper on your Tacoma and tow my 20 foot boat behind? Just ribbiing ya a bit. You buy a truck for what your personal needs are. And Obviously his and others wouldn't be met with a Tacoma....

I get 20 to 21 mpg on my 6.0 powerstroke. I can pull my 25 foot trailer or my 21.6 boat with no problem, and get around 13mpg. maybe 14 if i drive slower. I wouldnt own a gas truck if i had to haul stuff. I like my truck. and the price of Diesel is a scam.

I got 18 mpg driving to Seattle and get 12 mpg towing my 8000# fifth wheel.  In town I average 12-14.  Not great gas mileage but much better than my 6.0 liter gas chevy.

You have to be really nice and you have to keep your turbo quiet!
If I run my 95 7.3 in stock mode I get 18 to 20 at 60 mph if im nice.

The secrete it finding the corect rpm/mph sweet spot. on my dodge 2wd 1 ton Deually i get 18 mpg no matter how much i load on it @60mph so long as its below the cab at 70mph i get 15.5-16mpg At 50-55mph i get 20mpg... Getting slightly bigger od tires or driving slower will acomplish the same thing... I run slightly bigger tires on my deually and it helps a little. The best bang for the buck i think for you Auto guys is a slightly bigger tire and a cheap chip that lets you reprogram your shift points and compensate for different tire sizes.  :twocents:

I find keeping your foot off the gas pedal and using your cruise on the highway at 60-70 mph is best as long as being relligious on the maintenance.  My mileage tanks after 75 mph or if I get them turbos excited.

25 mph sounds about right for a Duramax :chuckle: :chuckle: Especially when towing

Mine is an 02 and has a chip, not programmer, no muffler and cold air intake. The trick I found with mine is to keep it at or below 2,000 rpm at cruise. Above that the mileage goes to pot fast.

MuleySniper is right though, I only go 25 mph when pulling. The Dodges and Fords seem to fall apart if I tow em any faster.  :chuckle:

2007 F-250 extended cab with 6.0, decent milage but never been over 20 mpg I would like to know the trick on that one.
Pulls everything I own, looks good, goes dang near anywhere and I can turn around.
Does not sound like the kalakala when running (sorry dodge guys)
Flies down the freeway and a pleasure to drive
Downside back seat sucks
