Cant remember exact range but a little over 500yds of sticks with my ar. It was a miracle shot im sure of it but I had been shooting a lot at gongs out to 600 with the rifle too. Longest off hand was a hair over 300yds at a running yote with my .338 win

wow even more great shots! :D im pretty new to predator hunting but i was hitting a 16in steel square in goldendale this weekend at around 750 yrds. its a little tough with out a target turret style scope, just hold over and hope:p i have a browning a-bolt in 300wsm shooting 185g bergers at about 3000fps. plain jane leaupold 3x9 scope. i really want to send it in to leupold and get a target turret made for it!!  :chuckle: :chuckle:

Are you from Goldendale? Just wondering if I know you.

after setting up my 7mm-08 for long range shooting, i tried it for a couple yote outings, i managed one at 711 yards. went back to the .223 after that, best for the .223 is about 400yrds, was my 12th shot (AR).lol.

what load are you shooting for your long range stuff?

aer212: i doubt it. i dont live up there. i was at my friends cabin " who also dosent live there"  shooting on box canyon

Yotes at 513yds twice with my ultralight .204.  One DOA in the earhole (thank the wind), and the other ran 50 and piled up.  He was lunged, and it was a pass through at that distance with a 40gr. Vmax :yike:  It took several (100+) misses over the years "kill" one at over 500yds. with a varmint gun!:chuckle:

A coyote at 780 with my 300 remington ultra mag. Now wait I know nobody will believe me. But I had 3 coyotes in a straight line walking away from me. i put my crosshairs 4 foot over the first coyote in the line and hit the middle coyote and rolled him. It was all luck.

A little more than luck involved, good shooting.

Why didn't you just spin your turret to 780? :P
