Dang that is a sweet decoy  I would be afraid of him getting stalked and blasted on public ground  :o I have seen people stalk foam decoys that look like crap. That this is very realistic looking.

That is the best looking decoy I have seen, has anyone seen one in person to know if it looks as good as on the video?

So you hike in to a fly down spot, great, but the turkeys go the other way? :bash: Now you have this big ass decoy to pack or hide so you can hunt. Yeah it's a great looking decoy and it works great, but it's not a user friendly decoy. Strike a gobble then you have to set it up for a hot tom coming. :bdid:
I've used this one, blows up real quick and the toms come to it as soon as they see it. I was in on 5 big toms killed last year using this decoy. And it's only 30 bucks  http://www.gandermountain.com/modperl/product/details.cgi?i=420445&pdesc=Cherokee_Sports_Billy_Bad_Act_II_Turkey_Decoy&str=turkey+decoy&merchID=4005

Yeah I was hoping to show the quality of the workmanship.  I really like Dave Smith hen decoys too!

There are lots of decoys out there.  I use my stuffer hen and it works the best I have ever seen.  I own lots of decoys.  I like the looks of Zinks new decoys too.  I don't like the blow up decoys cause of the shine.   :twocents:

I found a video of the ones PA BEN recommends.

I've used Dave Smith goose decoys and they are the best. I have use decoys that I attach a fan and wings to. It's a pane in the a$$ to pack a fan and wings. But that's me, to each there own.

I know they shine, but it don't matter. They work. When my buddy showed me the tom decoy last year and that was the first thing I said to him. But the next morning as soon as the toms saw it they ran right in for a fight. My daughters tom came in running at 75 yds when he saw it, he stopped at a blow up hen to say hi and then to the blow up tom. End of story.

I've had toms look at jake decoys and keep walking. Had jakes come in to a full strutter decoy and turn and run. Never had a tom not come into a full strutter once they see it. ;)

I guess Ive been very fortunate since I started turkey hunting. I think the only year I got skunked since I started about six years ago was the first time I went. Since then I've filled at least two tags/season if I have two in my pocket.  I owe all I know now though to wastickslinger. Ive been chasing turkeys with him going on my sixth year. Technically we've never used a "full strutter" dec, but there have been times where we honestly think we couldn't close the distance because we thought the dec was too intimidating. Turkey hunting in funny though, with a pretty long season, if you are a week early or a week late, just like the mule deer rut, there is that hot streak where the birds are on fire and would come in to a blow up doll wearing pasties.  :chuckle:

The best time is when you can get away and hunt. My preference is to skip the first weekend and hunt opening day if a week day then week days.

I have only killed one gobbler on opening day. Most kills have been spread out from the first week to last day. I have killed most of my gobblers (7)  from about 9 am to 1:pm., I have taken 2 early morning birds. I still try to get out first thing as there is nothing like being in the woods when pitch black, hearing the first robin and then hearing that gobbler cut loose.
