I know they shine, but it don't matter. They work. When my buddy showed me the tom decoy last year and that was the first thing I said to him. But the next morning as soon as the toms saw it they ran right in for a fight. My daughters tom came in running at 75 yds when he saw it, he stopped at a blow up hen to say hi and then to the blow up tom. End of story.

real turkeys shine unlike geese and some ducks! i dont see why it would matter if a turkey decoy did.

Will a Jake shy away from these decoys?

I've had toms look at jake decoys and keep walking. Had jakes come in to a full strutter decoy and turn and run. Never had a tom not come into a full strutter once they see it. ;)

I guess Ive been very fortunate since I started turkey hunting. I think the only year I got skunked since I started about six years ago was the first time I went. Since then I've filled at least two tags/season if I have two in my pocket.  I owe all I know now though to wastickslinger. Ive been chasing turkeys with him going on my sixth year. Technically we've never used a "full strutter" dec, but there have been times where we honestly think we couldn't close the distance because we thought the dec was too intimidating. Turkey hunting in funny though, with a pretty long season, if you are a week early or a week late, just like the mule deer rut, there is that hot streak where the birds are on fire and would come in to a blow up doll wearing pasties.  :chuckle:
