Turkey hunting in funny though, with a pretty long season, if you are a week early or a week late, just like the mule deer rut, there is that hot streak where the birds are on fire and would come in to a blow up doll wearing pasties.  :chuckle:

OK who has the crystal ball this year.  Is the hot week going to be the 1st, 2nd or 3rd week of the season?  I need some help planning my vacation.  :chuckle:    I guess I need to put this question under polls?

The best time is when you can get away and hunt. My preference is to skip the first weekend and hunt opening day if a week day then week days.

I have only killed one gobbler on opening day. Most kills have been spread out from the first week to last day. I have killed most of my gobblers (7)  from about 9 am to 1:pm., I have taken 2 early morning birds. I still try to get out first thing as there is nothing like being in the woods when pitch black, hearing the first robin and then hearing that gobbler cut loose.

I'd have to get wastickslinger to sign a contract first since he is the main star :chuckle:
