Grande Ronde
« on: March 09, 2011, 06:57:23 AM »
I went to the Grande Ronde yesterday evening for a couple of hours.  The river was high and muddy.  No luck for me but a few drift boaters "lied" about catching a few.  I will be heading down there a few more times before it closes on April 15th. i will update if i get lucky.

The river has been alot lower the past few years so thats what I am going off of when saying the river is high not the mean which is based over a much longer period of time. Nice fish!!!!

There are so many fish in that system that you can take fish during all conditions.  :twocents:  You just have to adapt to the conditions. Get back out there.

fishin really shutdown this past weekend, right after that cold snap fishing was phenominal. A good friend of mine down there flaoted the river saturday with 2 others who have fished the river for over 20 years and they didnt touch a fish.  My dad is on his way back today, will have to see how he did, weather has been terrible down there and with the 1/2 inch of rain thats projected today and all the snow they have recieved in the last 2 weeks I wouldnt be surprised if the river goes over 5,000 cfs in the next few days

foot... no sleds allowed unless water is over 3,000 cfs or after march 15th    some of the best holes on that river are on the road side.. and its the side u wanna be on come march the fish are running the roadside up to the hatchery..almost all OR fish have moved up.
