.22 conversion for 1911

Does anyone have any experience with these? 

I'm looking to get one for my 5" Kimber for practicing.  Any good or bad manufacturers?  It seems like I could get a Buckmark for almost the same price but I kind of like the idea of getting more trigger time on the Kimber frame.  On the other hand if it's gonna jam all the time and be a pain then maybe I'll pass and just get a standalone .22

My wife got me the Kimber conversion for my full size Eclipse.  As long as you use good quality .22's you wont have a problem.  I like it due to the fact I get to practice with the trigger and the weight of my 45 while shooting 22's.  It is a whole lot cheaper that way.

One thing he's brought up time after time is the importance of using quality ammo. He swears by CCI mini mags

I've got the Kimber .22 conversion on my Kimber Ultra carry and it's sweet.  Haven't had it jam on me yet..  Cheap ammo or not.  Fun to shoot for sure.

Ive heard the Kimber conversions work well, plus its practical for getting more trigger time with your 1911.

To echo the above statements, reviews say that using higher quality ammo will help with cycling issues. Ive read range reports that the CCI mini mags work well

I have a Kimber Pro Carry II Stainess 4 inch barrel with a conversion kit for when I want to shoot economical ammo. Generally no problems with cheaper ammo, but the higher quality ammo ensures no problems whatsoever. When I'm just plinking I'll shoot the cheap stuff and deal with a jam every once in a while, not a big deal to me. PLUS, you can change it out in a matter of seconds, so it's not real complicated to get it done. No complaints here.

The Kimber conversion is good. If you get into something like a true target setup like a Bob Marvel, you will have a more finicky setup. More accurate than the Kimber though.  Love my costomized Ruger's in competition but there are times I wish I'd have gone with quality target rimfire conversions on my 1911.  Buying a Buckmark (best trigger out of the box for a rimfire pistol), is a great option. The grip angle is near that of the 1911. Great guns and will be a bit more accurate than the Kimber rimfire upper.
