« on: March 09, 2011, 05:35:16 PM »
Have any of you guys seen this or used it?  Saw it on spirit of the wild and thought it looked cool.  i would like to hear some thought on it though.

It looks neat.  All futuristic and what not.  Here's another recent sight--http://www.trijicon.com/na_en/products/product1.php?id=AccuPinAccupin.  A lot of technology and research going into bows/arrows right now.  So if companies are willing to invest in these products, they must think hunters will buy them.  I think they are right.  I like that they are producing some real quality products with sound engineering.  Gives some good potential for hunters to make better shots.  (now for the con)  I also think, not to really blame manufacturers, that this kind of tech will tempt some to take some rather risky shots.  I even got a kick out of the stabilizer with a quad picatinny that was on their site!  Something I see a lot with the rifle/handgun crowd, probably carry over to archery world---when the word tactical can be attached to the equipment, some users automatically think it gives some added accuracy or improved ability and magically become snipers.

I think we are on the same page.  I like the idea and think it has a lot of potential and like that it has no batteries so it is legal.

I dont think that it is legal because it has a lens and I think would be considered a scope (even though it doesnt magnify).

on another note i have seen and played with one and it was junk IMHO

I am in South Dakota so it is legal, but I would like to hear why you tink it is junk, i.e. poor design, poor quality ect...
Thanks

the red dots are actually fiber optics that are like 6-7 inches form the reflective lens and you see a reflection. just seems gimmicky to me. been a year snce i saw it and i dont remember the construction very well, but it seems like i remember a lot of plastic... maybe... maybe not.
nothin wrong with the tried and true pins we are already using.

Holy crap!  $495 for that Trijicon.  I was really liking their frame and dial theories, but then I saw the price.  Maybe they want military snipers to start using them because that's the only set of pockets deep enough for that price in a hunting sight.
