That's too bad. You could have got the Bushnell I suggested for $20 less, and it's a lot better scope. I like Leupold but you have to get a VX-III to get a scope that's comarable to the Bushnell 4200.

But yes, Leupold's warranty is good.

I totally disagree.  Personally, I don't like 4200s. :twocents:

Well, to each his own. The other good thing about Leupold is they hold their value and are easy to sell on ebay, if you ever decide to upgrade.

Good choice Matt.  I own that same scope.  You will love it.

Good choice on the Leupold.  Can't beat that scope for $220 in my opinion and like someone said you can easily re-sell it if you decide to upgrade in the future.

Don't know if you're interested in Predator hunting ( Coyotes) but I would of recommended a 6 - 18 or 20 just in case you decided to use the 243 for yotes. I have a VXII 3-x9X 40  and I'll probably trade it out for a 6-18x50 Will work great here on the east side if you do much mountain hunting which is all I do  Get away from the road hunters

I do A LOT of coyote. Hunting infact I no longer hunt big game and concentrate on coyotes and think a 3x9 is too big of a scope for coyotes in eastern WA sage country :chuckle: :tung:.  My personal favorite is a 1.5x6x40mm(1 ea Burris Sightron and Bushnell) and a couple of rifles set up with 1x4x20mm(Leupold).  I have one rifle a 22-250 that is set up for hunting big opn country where there is little cover like eastern MT or ND or eastern WA grasslands and that has a 2.5x10x40mm.  I call coyotes and think FOV is mor important than X's on coyote scope.

I think FOV is also a much more important aspect of night hunting than people generally thing.  The more terrain you have in your FOV in a low light situation, the more you have to compair and contrast against game making them easier to pick out.

as far as power goes......
a 6x scope makes a 300 yard shot appear to be 50 yards, if you cant take a responsible unmagnified 50 yard shot you probably shouldnt be taking the shot at all.  :twocents:
