Yeah, pretty much looks like the LMF as you mentioned, with some extra bells and whistles. I bought the LMF 2 years ago cause it was beefy, had the sharpner, could use as a spear thingy and looked like a decent overall general knife....all that. I strapped it upside down to my pack straps for a couple hunts, but after that...forget it. It stays at home every time. Waaay to big and heavy.. And didn't like the edge on the blade. This is never gonna be used for your day to day stuff that a pocket flip knife does or to skin/gut an animal. Frankly it just sat there and looked cool but lacked any real quality for real use. The sharpener built into the sheath is worthless for any real edge IMO and that blade just is never gonna get razor sharp like a quality bushcraft knife with a scandi grind blade. I love knives, which is why I bought it, but overall it's not something I'll lug around into the backcountry.
