Nice pup, it's about time!!
The only man who never makes a mistake, is the man who never does anything!!
The further one goes into the wilderness, the greater the attraction of its lonely freedom.

dang, he is fairly strong willed...

In Wolter's book, Game Dog, he talks about picking a pup and some little "tests" you can do to test them out...

One of them you put him on his back and hold your hand on his chest, then watch the reaction. If he just lays there he's easy going and probably not real strong willed, may be shy later on.... if he struggles but doesn't freak out, that is what you want...he tough but secure.... if he turns into the tasmanian devil... well, you can guess. He's got a hard head and is going to need 2X4 training on top of other methods....

My 9 year old daughter tried it and he went Taz on her... we were laughing so hard because I was reading from the book as she was holding him down and he was doing word for word what Wolters said the strong willed dog would do....

When I held him down, he struggled lightly, but would submit most of the time....every once in a while he'd go Taz on me though :chuckle:

He is "coming" real well and is learning not to rush in the door when I open it... I am really looking forward to the next few months of training!
