Just curious how some of you guys score two dozen sheds a season

I spend december and january finding and watching deer just because I like to watch them on their winter ground and see bucks I normally wouldn't see. Come february I have a pretty good idea where to start.

I used to get 2 dozen or more when I lived in Wyoming, but back then thats what my friend and I did for a living in the spring time, Now Im lucky to find 3 or 4 if I even get out. Bean Counter I love the picture you have under your name that is to funny.

I put other. I walk around aimlessly but in an area I know there have been sheds found by me or others in my camp.

A lot of foot time, in the areas they winter.

I systematically cover an area then move to another. I tend to find more if I cover every square inch of land that I can.  Sometimes all you see is 1/4" of tine sticking out of the snow, pine needles etc.

Every time I go "shed hunting" I end up liioking for deer and elk instead of looking at the ground. My old man use to give use hell when we were hunting if we were looking at the ground. Its hard to break that habit.

Other: I scout on Google Earth for good spots based on aspect and elecation, then put on the miles in a systematic fashion so I know I what ground I've covered and what I haven't.

Put in the time and miles. You probably wont find 2 dozen if you only look a few times a year. after a couple years you should find some reliable spots that produce sheds each year.

I can't seem to find many and I use your 2nd choice.  I guess I will just have to resort to doing 1 and 3.

honestly i probably put in 20 to 30 miles a year looking for the damn things and im lucky if i find 3 all year i dont see how you guys do it either... most of the time i find them when i trip over them during hunting season

times that distance by 10 and you will find alot of them also.

I was thinking that myself. I'm guessing on average I hike 5-7 miles per shed.
