G5 A.S.D.
« on: March 16, 2011, 09:01:17 PM »
So who knows what a G5 A.S.D. is? How does it benefit your shooting?

Should your local archery shop have one, or at least know what it is?

I was surprised that my local shop didn't even know what one was after I bought some new arrows yesterday. You'd think that if you're going to sell top dollar arrows you'd at least be able to assemble them correctly...

Just goes to show, if you want something done correctly, do it yourself.

It helps aline your arrow shaft and your insert. So everything fits together nice.

This is a great tool.  I square all of my arrow shafts when building them (both ends) and square my inserts afterward.  You'll find that you can get a lot more arrows to spin a broadhead by spending the two minutes it takes to do each arrow.

It ensures that your cuts and your inserts are at a perfect 90 degree angle to the wall of the shaft.

I got mine at Cabela's.  Wholesale Sports should have them too.

Wholesale Sports in Fed Way doesn't have them, or know what one is...

Button Nubbs I found my G5 ASD in the parkinglot of my local Deja Vu sitting on top of a $20 bill. My lucky day. Free lapdance then quickly home to square my shafts.  ;)

You probably needed to "square your shaft" after that lapdance. :chuckle: :P

 :yeah:

I do it for all my arrows.  Not sure if it helps my target stuff or not, but at least I know I won't lose a point because of not doing it.  I do know that it helps the broadhead tuning, though.
Bring a GPS!  It's awkward to have to eat your buddies!
