Maxxis 31 limbs...
« on: March 17, 2011, 08:29:30 PM »
I'm looking for a set of Maxxis 31 limbs.  If anyone has a lead on a set it would be much appreciated.

Yep, bottom right limb on the edge.  Seen it before?

Just got this bow in a trade and the guy wants to make it right so I told him I would be happy if he replaced the limbs.

Where did he get it?   If he takes it back to the shop where he got it hoyt will replace them for free.  Only if he got it from a shop.

I happened on my maxxis 35. The guy said it was from the corner of the limb banging on something. It was pretty common with the alphamax too. You'll find a few threads on AT about it. If he was the original owner have him warranty it.

Btw, cut the splinter off with a razor blade put some clear nail polish on the limb where you cut it off and shoot away. There is only 1 bow I would even consider getting rid of my maxxis for and that is the carbon matrix. Congrats on your new bow. Your gonna love it!

I have read a lot of threads on AT where this has happened and guys have trimmed it off and had no problems.  This is the second bow in a row I have traded for on AT that had a splinter on the bottom limb like this.  Both bows show marks like someone was using one of those portable clip on bow stands.  Not sure if that caused it or not.

I traded my Maitland for an HCA Speed Pro X10 and when I got it found a splinter.  The guy I traded to contacted HCA and they sent a new set of limbs no problem.  Problem with the Maxxis is it has changed hands several times.  Talked to the local Hoyt dealer and they said $160 for a new set.  The guy I traded with is going to talk to his local Hoyt guy today and see what they might do.

I would trim the splinter off and not worry about it but I traded a bow with a brand new set of limbs for it so I expect to have a flawless bow in return.
