New Toy

Yesterday was the inaugural for my new Ruger Mk III pistol. Nice. I went with the 22/45 stainless model with the 6 7/8" barrel. It felt very good in the hand and recoil was not noticeable at all. I had forgotten how much fun it can be shooting a .22 auto. Even the trigger felt o.k., not for competition but plenty good for plinking. Got a good deal online from Bud's Gun Shop.

No kidding....life is good when guns are accurate and ammo is cheap. Especially if you end up like me, recovering from shoulder surgery.....light recoil only for a while.

I've had some time to sight in and shoot the .22 and I am very happy with the piece. I had gone back and forth in my mind about getting the MkIII or 22/45 grips and I think I made the right choice with the 22/45. It feels more like my larger semi-autos than I thought it would. Although the trigger is not to competition standards, it is certainly crisp enough to satisfy my demands. It felt nice not having to think about how many dollars are flying out of the pipe with each magazine. I would recommend this gun to anyone interested in a reliable .22 pistol.

Great buy, I picked one up a few weeks ago and its quickly become one of my favorites. Took my dad to the range to try it out and he ordered one from Buds as soon as he got home haha
The only downside I see to the 22/45 is the aftermarket grip situation.. Unless you get the 'RP' model, its dang hard to find anything that will fit, short of sending it away to be milled down. Adding a red dot increased the fun 10-fold easily
I bet you've noticed the need for more magazines by now
2 just isnt enough!

Big time. I always kind of wondered why the local hardware store carries Ruger .22 pistol mags when they don't really have any other mags for sale (except 10/22). Now it makes perfect sense. I am going to need at least three more and probably more later. "Pop. Pop, pop. Pop, pop-pop-pop-pop-pop-pop!"
