WA NASP Tournament
« on: March 20, 2011, 12:39:39 PM »
I got the privilege of helping coach a team in our state's National Archery in the Schools program this year, and I had a great time!  The tournament was held Saturday at CWU in Ellensburg and was attended by elementary, middle and high schools from all corners of the state.  I haven't seen the actual numbers, but I am guessing that there were upwards of 400 shooters from probably 8-10 school districts.  There were more smiles than you could count for sure, and the competition was stiff!  With 3600 possible team points the high school championship was won by 2 points, middle school by maybe 50, and elementary by around 40.

Congratulations to:
Deer Park High School - Deer Park
Lincoln Middle School- Clarkston
Evergreen Elementary- Spokane

Deer Park finally edged out Easton, man I should have been there. You should also thank the CWU archery club for hosting the event. I hope it was as big of a success as last year.

It was a successful day that was only possible by the hard work of the CWU Archery program.  Their constant presence in all the needed places was much appreciated by the coaches and participants!
