With 10 pts you shouldn't have a problem drawing that permit, that's one of the funnest hunts around, I've always tagged out with that permit, matter of fact everyone I know that's ever had it just about has tagged out. Last season I know of 4 guys who tagged out and the year before 2 others I know tagged out. You want Blue mt foothills west though for the area around Dayton, it's the better of the 2 and has more tags available
I'm gonna get one of the 2 of them this year preferably with the rifle, I don't care which one.
Cascade - you didn't plan that due date very well!! But congrats!
Your probably right Pathfinder, that's why I'll be putting in for the ML permit. I like the dates better anyways.
I know a guy in town that has pulled it twice in 5 yrs
It is a good permit, i would argue the 10 point shoe in, i have been putting in for that tag for i don't remember how many years and cant pull it
Sounds like you have bad luck I know guys that religiously draw it every 5th or 6th year, I have the same luck.

I think the muzzleloader ones are the better ones timing wise.Maybe 10 points won't be a shoe in anymore, but up till now it would have been. I think there's not enough good alternatives out there now with everyone hanging on to their points in other categories when they draw a "Quality" permit.

Everyone will be putting in for it, knowing that it really is a "quality" hunt, even though it isn't being billed as such... And there aren't enough good hunts being offered in the "Buck" category of similar quality to take the pressure off it...
So the moral of the story is....don't bother hunting the Blues and surrounding for deer either
