Good input from everyone.  I'm interested to see all the info on this one.

I also had a Badlands 2200 and got rid of it.  May be a good pack but didn't like how it fit on me.

Not a day pack but, I've got a Kelty external framed larger pack that I've used for packing all my gear in ~5 miles and the bags come off easy and it packs meat great.  Are the day packs designed to pack meat also?? All the ones I've used don't have the support I would want with a quarter on my back.

Hornhunter Packs Mainbeam or Mainbeam XL are great packs also there new Curl Pack all fit the bill for what you are looking for

Those are some great packs.  Also if the scabbard is something you would really like (I like them, as you don't have to use them if you don't want; just an option), then I would take a serious look at MDGrand's X1A1 in the classifieds.

Just check out the Mystery Ranch..http://www.mysteryranch.com/s.nl/it.A/id.39175/.f?sc=8&category=1970... it compresses down to a 1900 CI model which makes it easier to pack around, then it expads to accomodate just about anything.  Since I already bought my Superday I think I wil stick with it, but I am VERY tempted to return it and just buy this one.. I would never have to buy another pack if I did.

I also have an Eberlestock X2 and really like it. It's not as bulky as the 2200.
It handles the moisture really good too.

Another vote for the Eberlestock x2.  It is a sweet pack.  So what did you get?

I went with the X2.  It just felt more comfortable than the rest and seems like a really versatile pack.  Can't wait to get it out and use it in the field.  Think my bro's spring bear hunt in Huckleberry unit will be a good opportunity!!
