The IBO shoot in Spokane is coming up!
Who from Hunt-Wa is shooting it, and what class do you shoot?

I just got a new bow and would like to get into some shooting.  Any advice for a newbie looking to get into some shoots?

where in the state are you located?  best bet would be to join a local club!

Just go do it!

The more shoots you go to the more folks you will meet who can help you with your 3D shooting.
Learn to Judge yardage well and dont take advice from people who dont shoot good..lol

I've been archery hunting for a few years now so I'm pretty good with yardage.  I finally bucked up and spent some money on a good bow so I'm looking for any excuse I can find to get out and shoot

Very true!  There's a lot of guys that can shoot a 2" group at 30 yards, but not many that can consistently judge 45 vs. 50 vs. 48, and fewer yet that can do both, and only a couple that can do both for 40 shots in a row.

I can do neither, so I try to shoot with those that can to learn more.

I'm pretty sure that I'll have to miss this one since I'll be working.  Time off for a 3D shoot isn't easy to get wifely approval, unfortunately.

Silver, it was golden, even platinum.  You wouldn't believe how many thousands of dollars I've made off those trophies since; heck, I could probably just quit my job with all the money coming in!  I do want to shoot with you again though, because I know I shoot better with someone to follow.  Plus, you can handle my sense of humor and still shoot well.  I've caused too many guys to fall apart and drop 40 points a side from laughing at me.  (Anybody ever seen a guy leave the bipod on 3 times in a round and still get 10's?  If you hear a .22 going off it's just me forgetting the damn thing again.)

I was working in Northern MT this week and stopped in at Buffalo Jump Archery Shop in Helena. Talked to a couple of the guys from the shop who are coming to Spokane for this shoot. Nice guys, really seemed to know their stuff and hard hunters

For those of you who didnt make it...
It was a good shoot! Some great scores were shot and some rookie mistakes were made by some who knew better :bash:

i would have shot pretty well except the stupid rookie mistakes... wrong pin mostly. and those damn little bears! GRRRRR!!!
the only way my score would ever start with a "4" is if it only had 2 digits... lol
