Turkey Hunting/Gas Prices
« on: March 23, 2011, 08:17:27 PM »
Quick  question, What is gas prices going to do your spring turkey hunting? Are you going to make the trek to the NE or shortstop somewhere in Central WA? I'm glad I don't have to travel far to be in turkey country.

With the opener on a Friday this year .... I think we will see plenty of folks in the turkey woods throughout the state!   :twocents:

I have the opener off......BUT w/the gas prices I don't know. I'm from Chewelah and plan on going over, so it's a vacation to see family and friends too. :dunno: I just got a lead on some turkeys over here on the wet side. If I can get in on them over here, I will save my gas money for deer season.

Oh yes it is definatly going to affect all of my hunting this year especially Turkey birds. We plan on hunting central washington instead of the NE corner this year and with the amount of snow still in the hills its kind of screwing me. Thanks to the idiots that set the prices for fuel!

I don't go to far about 15-20 miles for my turkey hunting. I think it will keep a few more people out of the woods.

Well was going to take the week off for some time to my self, but now I will miss the 1st 15 days because of work. Never have missed an opener in 16 years but I can't turn down the hours and the OT. I agree with sundance the gas prices wont slow me down for scouting and now late season. Good luck every one.

I have two kids a fired up to go :IBCOOL: so fuel will play a role but not enough to keep us home. I considered not going to the regular season but I will be sure to get my kids over no matter what the bill. They are excited and I do not know how long it will last, with all the activities they have today I want to keep hunting near the top of the list. :twocents:

What, no Turkey Slayer in the woods during opening week???  :yike:   Unheard of!!   Does this mean that Yelp will also hold off hunting for this year's trophy bird (contest) until you can make it out?

I've got about a 200 mile round-trip in my Cherokee. I'm applying for federal aid for turkey season!
