bear trail camera pix

Just wondering if anyone has tried tying a salmon carcass from a tree and placing a trail camera this time of year to get bear pix. I believe it is legal, but if not please let me know. Would a bear want fish this time of year, or would something else be better. Thank you for your time

I don't see why it wouldn't work, and yes, it's legal. I think anything that smells would attract a bear this time of year, when they don't have a lot to eat, other than grass and maybe some winter killed deer and elk.

I have a couple springer carcasses in the freezer, 3 trail cams and some time on my hands. Sounds like a plan for next week.

That'll be interesting to see what comes in to it. You might also get a bobcat. I suppose coyotes are always a possibility too. They might get it before a bear has a chance to find it.

I put out a trail cam in June and I had 100 pictures in about week or so. I'll see if I can dig up some pictures.

My
:
Don't get any of the "fish" scent on it or they will destroy your camera.
