Opening day

Anybody know when lakes open? I thought it was the last full weekend in April, but wasn't sure.

Read the regs.; many lakes are open year round. In your neighborhood, Lake Terrell is open year round with BIG trout and channel catfish.

The General Lowland Lakes Opener is the last Saturday in April. Don't forget to buy a new fishing license before April 1st.

It is actually the last Saturday in April, NOT the last full weekend.

Sorry, I was actually complimenting you as I had said the same in my prior post and GEEZ, few following seemed to believe me? Again, sorry for the confusion. I actually sell licenses at my job and I'm still amazed by the people that go by "what Bob, Joe or Bill said" rather by the printed regs. or a phone call to the local WDFW Regional Office vs. the local sporting goods store, internet site or tavern bar stool expert.

Gotcha.  It is funny how many people believe the first thing that people say.  Not neccesarily aiming that towards anyone on here, but just in general.  I work in an industry where people are always pissed off and most of the time they over exagerate everything, so I am somewhat use to that sort of thing.  Where do you work at Tom?

Maybe this is a dumb question but why buy a license before the first? Is it cheaper than after? Seems like I knew this answer before but I forget

This year you send all your Licence and Tag money to Hunt Wa you will then be chosen for a special prize drawing having exclusive hunting rights in either Olympia, or an undisclosed location in King County.   :ass:

Not any cheaper.  Some people just like to get it out of the way so that when it does come around there is nothing stopping them from going fishing.

really the 'opening day' for lakes thing is a misnomer. In fact, it's practically irrelevant. You need to open the regs and check special rules for any lake, river, etc before you go to it because you never know what rules will apply. It will state in that area when your lake of question opens up.

It tells me the lakes open at different dates.

this state has a lot of regulation. always gotta check a gmu, or body of water before going out. Hell, sometimes you need to check ONLINE to see if there are updates POST REG PRINT. I remember two years ago when they shut down a portion of a river for tribal netting AFTER regs were already posted. I think they just gave fisherman warnings instead of tickets though.
