My wife drew copalis any ideas?
« on: March 25, 2011, 06:50:35 PM »
So my wife drew copalis and she has never gotten a bear before and this is her first spring bear permit...
I've done some research and I'm not looking for any honey holes or anything but if anyone had any advice and possibly wanted to go so far as show me a bear for her to shoot lol it would be much appreciated

What type of research have you done?

Yea, I saw you were reading those threads.

Google earth is great, but I am not sure that those orthos are as up to date as the grays harbor assessor site. Also look for maps with rez boundaries to speed that up.
You will need to give Rayonier a bunch of info to get your access pass. Drivers license, insurance, permit, hunting license, etc. so call and ask what you need before you head over.

If you hunt the 101 side, gas is available in Aberdeen and Humptulips so you may want to bring an extra can. Stay away from the Failor Lake area when fishing opens. Way too many people all over the place.

If you want a great local read, pick up "Education of a bear hunter" by Ralph Flowers.
