A buddy and I were going to go to Ford over here on the dry side tomorrow.  Checked the weather and theres a possibility of snow and lots of rain, so that killed that trip.   Hearing some still but not seeing them.  Seem to becoming a little call shy.  Oh well a crappy day in the woods is still better than any day at work.

Went for a drive up Swakane Canyon this morning.  Did some howling and yipping with the RR call I got recently, and got a pack to answer, but they never showed.  I think the Swakane coyotes are among the best educated dogs in the state.
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Bernie Madoff did it, it's called a "Ponzi Scheme"
When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"

I had a nice big one run out in front of my truck Friday in the middle of the afternoon. I was a little slow on the gas so he made it clear just in time. This was about 6 miles down West Charles road on the Spokane County side of Long Lake. My wife bar tends at Farels's bar here in Suncrest and she says she hears em' just about every night when she closes. They are here but lots of places to lay low right now.

Most of them around here are denning up (or down) getting ready to pup in the next 40 - 60 days.  Myself, I usually leave them be till fall, unless there is an over abundance of them in one area.  Or they get to close to the house.  They help with the rodent population in the summer, at least in my area.   :twocents:

Dropped a big Female this morning, hoping the male will come back around this evening.

208 yrds,   .243 heavy barrel Savage w/BSA 6x24 x 50 scope.   Hornady 65 gr V-MAX.  Un-zipped her like a sweater.   Will get a front facing and rear facing hat our of the pelt.  LOL

Shooting the Hornady factory 58 gr moly-coated V-Max's in my "budget" (Stevens 200) .243.  It grouped slightly over 1.5" at 200 yards.

Saw 3 the other night all within about 5 minutes of each other on the way home.  The next morning chased one down the road.    Most yotes I've seen in a long while.
What's the most dangerous thing said in the US Navy? -- A Chief Petty Officer saying "Watch this s$%^!!"

"I can imagine no more rewarding a career. And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction: 'I served in the United States Navy.'"
