Does anybody know how many applications there were for deer last year? I can't seem to find any information on that. I applied for the multi season deer, and only a point for the multi season elk.

I wanted to know how many applications there were last year, not the number of permits.

I think I saw one time that there were someting like 4500-5000 elk applicants and like 4000 deer applicants.  But I might be wrong, that is truly from memory.

Alan, that's how many tags were set to be issued, not how many apps there was for 2009-2010. We are looking for the number of apps.

Ah, yeah, no dice as far as applicant numbers.  I would guess pretty darn reasonable, seems about 80% of the people I know who applied for deer were drawn.  Elk on the other hand was pretty low, only knew two that drew of probably 10 or so people.

That would be pretty cool. I am sure as soon as they do, it will be posted on here for everyone to go check.

How quickly do you think you need to buy your tag if you do get drawn? Don't they draw more then the actual number of permits and then its first come first serve?

Yes they will be first come first serve like they were last year, and they said they will be available on day "x".  I don't think they sold out for quite awhile afterwords on the deer, based on the folks that didn't do anything until they got the letter.  Ther eis a little higher demand for the elk, so those went a little faster.

Was there always a "point saver" option on multiseason permits or is that new this year? I kinda feel special if it's new because I wrote a letter to Olympia suggesting it, I'm sure I wasn't the only one :)
