I tried it last year and it was pretty easy, it almost didn't feel like hunting. The permit is designed for landowners who may have areas where turkeys scratch apart oat hay bales, etc. Those landowners like the hunting pressure. Its a 5 minute hunt if you are in the right spot. Turkey for dinner. Remember Big toms are in bachelor groups, but when its cold they show up too.

Anyone headed over for the last weekend of the NE permit hunt. Driving conditions look to be a little iffy getting over pass. Has anyone had any luck during the last week?

Was able to harvest my first Fall Turkey hunting near Chewelah last weekend!
Hunted one area for half a day where there had been birds before the snowfall, but I could not find any sign
Does anyone know how long turkeys might stay in the roost when it is snowing and blowing?
Went to another area for the afternoon hunt, and was able to tag a young Jake that was heading up the hill in 8" of new snow!
It was a good hunt, basically spot and stalk. Need to find the large flock(s) and then try to sneak in or hide and intercept. Will put in for a NE Fall Permit again next year.
