He was a bit fat. 385 lbs gutted and he had nearly two inches of fat from his rear to his shoulders.

Mine had no fat at all on it. Maybe thats the difference between a west side and east side bear with the harsher weather??? I mean zero fat. Her  stomach was about the size of two basketballs and was completely stuffed with grass and weeds. I didn't weigh her but the Taxi said given the length it'd be an average 200 lb bear if it were fall and she was fattened up.

Mine hardly had any fat on it either.  Mine squared right at 6'3' and was long and lean.

not really either....hunted the unit for 5 weekends (fri, sat and sun) until we found an area they were hitting hard and set up with lawn chairs and a cooler to wait them out....never saw a bear until that Saturday of Memorial Day weekend...saw 3 and got 2
beer---it's whats for dinner
