Harlis, Brant and Scoters Oh My!
« on: March 31, 2011, 01:17:11 PM »
Scouting some new spots last week and I counted 13 harlis, more brant then I could count, and sea ducks galore. I took some pics but you can't really make out the birds, it was all on my phone. :(

But I am pretty happy with my new spots ;) Funny how I usually find more time to get out to certain locations AFTER season ends (or as my luck as it, usually the LAST weekend of the season).

Brant just make the coolest sound I think.

Hopefully it holds true for next year.  No pressure for two months and the birds are found almost everywhere.  A saw some good sized flocks of brant this morning and had about 6 harlies about 20 ft away. Cool seeing all the birds.

Going boating this weekend and definitely taking my camera. I cruise around Deception pass and the islands. Always see harlies

yup I saw some squaw too, but not nearly as much as I did back in Nov-Dec.

I picked up a new MLB for getting on the Old Squaws a little better for next season.  Should be fun.  I think I am also going to hit the March 1-10 brant season in B.C. for some additional fun if everything works out.

MLB??? Marsh Layout Boat?
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.
