Got the permit today in mail rushed over to DNR Sedro and got a key $100 deposit. Maps, and the papers to sign. They stressed if you violated the terms of the key agreement, the key would be taken on the spot and the money forfeit.

I drew last year and got a bear my first morning out. It was not real big but had a dandy coat. It's still at the taxi- been almost a year now.

A lot of taix's are that way. They have a lot of work to do and most turn around for critters like bear are about a year.

Good luck North Skagit tag holders. I was out all morning hiking and checking trailcams in the unit, no sign yet but things should pick up once we get into May.

They are moving down in Thurston County. Ran into a couple of cubs (heard mama, but never saw her) this morning. See the 2011 Spring Bear Sign thread for a few pics.

A family member pulled this tag, you said  the DNR in sedro is where you get the keys? Does anyone have a address or a phone number?

I too received a info packet today. My Buddy went up and scouted roads today. Said he was at a gate near main line when another rig pulled up. He walked back and talk to them and told them he could not let them in that he had special permission. They left and another rig came up. It was security for Sierra and he thanked my buddy for turning the other rig away. Seems they had cameras there. they checked all my buddies paper work and wished him good luck.

Dang how many tags did they give away this year :yike: There is about 12+ people on here that have the tag this year and last year they only gave 20. Pretty cool I hope to see a lot of big bears get posted up. I will be hunting the last week of april and first part of may. We will see if we can get it done. :IBCOOL:

I see, last year I am pretty sure they only gave 20. Would have to look at the old regs and see for sure.

i think you are right about 20 last year. My buddy asked them about how many and they said the DFW was pushing for more this year.

Well off to work and than about  4pm off to hunt bears for 3 days. Good luck to all. If you come across my avatar(my hunt crest) out in the woods stop over and say howdy. We will swap tall tales.
