any animal that was feeding in the unit stops and moves on after they spray... It is sad that the timber companies can kill so many with the spray they say the animals wont eat food that has been sprayed well when they blanket spray miles of ground... Nothing like taking the winter food suply away!!! George weyerheauser has killed more deer with spray than everyone on this site combined!!!

timber co's are just that, timber co's they are not in the elk and deer bussiness, no different than a farmer sprayin their crops. I agree but also understand why they do what they do.
go ahead on er.

No offense.. Use to is gone... It's been gone since before i was a little kid...... My Dad always tells me about these places that were great after the burn or logging.... Then they sprayed.....  Good thing about some sprayers is they're too lazy to leave the truck and or road..... If they do airplanes or really do ground work you're f! Just what I know...   :twocents:

It would be nice if we could talk the RMEF into funding people to go back in after they spray and plant some grass.

The timber co's are doing this for economic reasons, the mills don't want big logs anymore, ever since the spotted owl *censored* mills have retooled to cut small logs, blame the evrio's for that one. As far as burning blame that one on the general public pissin and moanin about polluting the air, they won again no more burning at least on the west side anyway. Some do thin to an extent but it's like a farmer thinning his corn crop, aint gonna happen, too costly and only half the product gets harvested and sent to market, they have to get as much revenue per acre just like a farmer does with hay or corn or whatever he's growing. They DO NOT GET TAX BREAKS, it is taxed as timberland just the same as if you or I had 10 acres of timber. I think the forest service needs to step up and start harvesting some of our timber again, that would get the elk and deer back to where they belong instead of in everybody's field in the cowlitz valley.
go ahead on er.
