Great burbot fishing, plus there are a few lakers out there. We got a couple in 2010 that went over 15 pounds.

Sullivan Lake you can set I believe two trot lines with 5 hooks a piece for burbot. Double check its been a couple years since I have done it. Last time we did it we had a blast. The only problem was all the suckers in the lake. You get a trot line full of those and you have a mess.  :chuckle: We set our lines on shelves around 45-70' just up from about 120'.
If you shoot the first one you will never get that true trophy.

That sounds like alot of fun! Im going turkey hunting on the 15th and then pike fishing on the Pend Orielle River during the day! The population of Northern Pike on the river increased by 600% this year so it doesnt need to be a secret, tell your friends! They are about 5lbs. average and up to 30lbs.! I use some 25# braided line and after I catch a couple I re-tie my line due to their sharp teeth tearing it up! Check it out

Yeah i heard that whole state record thing, but i thought it was a cutthroat. I know this is a different thread topic, but have you ever been up to helmer mtn. East of sullivan?

No it's brown trout I checked before I posted it just to make sure the weight. Never been to helmer mtn. Once we get to the cabin we don;t go anywhere til we head home. As far as trot lines go I don't think you can do that anymore. I think they got rid of that a few years ago, but i could be wrong. Couldn't find anything in the regs about it all I could find was "All fishing gear must be kept in immediate control and may not be left unattended while fishing. Rod holders may be used, but the rod must be easily removed without delay; rod may be left in holder while playing the fish." from page 26 under the tackle part.

I think if someone has the patience, there are some big ones in Sullivan.
