Wish the wdfw would give out tags for a late mule deer hunt for the big Canadian bucks that winter up north..They are un huntable till December since they don't reside here all season long.

I think they are considering that option. Jerry Nelson talked about it at the March 4th meeting if I remember correctly.

well dont they winter closer to the river because everytime I see them late they are being fed on private ground. So if they did open up a late season a majority would be on private anyways.

depends on the area, but the area I am thinking is all nat forest or state. The bucks get close to river and do in some places..we are finding the big sheds around 4,000 ft on south slopes to the river..they dont get as much snow up north as some think compared to say deerpark,clayton,loon area.

I've picked up a few sheds there, but they get pretty chewed up in a hurry!  I'd love a late tag there.

Most people can't handle the density (lack of for deer) and plethora for deer.   People like to hunt where they can see.  You can't there.

I've never worried about it being overhunted.  Most wouldn't be able to find their belly button overthere.

I know what you mean! Now try the challenge of bowhunting on top of all that and you have yourself a hunt!!

Areas I am talking about are quite open come late season and when the snow dumps in canada those bucks migrate into WA and not by much, anywhere from the border to 8 Mi in at the most.You can see farther than u can shoot..Bearpaw I am sure knows of this general area
