Winston Cr. Non Typical from 1976, What a pig!!
« on: July 05, 2008, 11:08:19 PM »
I did a horn mount for a guy last year on this buck. It would have been about 24 wide if both side were typical. It is alot bigger than it looks in the picture. Wish I would have taken a picture along side a average blacktail.

Very nice, non typical blacky's don't happen very often...I would love to get something with that kind of character.

Several years ago I was hunting in Winston with a friend of mine when he shot a non typical.  It was a 3 point frame with 2 drop tines and 2 stickers on one side and 1 drop and 2 stickers on the other, a 6 x 7.  This thing was at least 250 lbs by far the biggest bodied buck I had ever seen, we had to bone it to get it out so we didn't get to weigh it.  If I can find some pics I will post them up.

Thanks for the pics,
Coon

Cool set of horns!  (Or "antlers" to be correct!  :chuckle: ) Looks like they were shot or chewed on??

I cant remember the whole story on it, I think that was the first shot. The guy was pretty young when he killed it.
