So do the VTR cams come close to the 340 IBO rating?  I know my 2010 Retribution with VTX cams shot much slower than the claimed 318 IBO rating.

Quite honestly I could care less about IBO ratings.  For one they are all BS from all the factories and for another we have stuff on the string and heavier arrows.  Accuracy and shootability is all that matters to me.  But for arguments sake you can do the math and figure out for yourself if it's close.  Here is my set up.  Everything re measured after a few hundred shots.

DL- 28.75
DW- 57.65lbs
Arrow- 28.5" Gold Tip UL 400 2" vanes, unibushing and g-nock, 120gr glu in tip- 376gr
Hooded speacialty peep, loop, and 2 string leeches.
Speed- 278fps

If I were shooting an IBO legal weight arrow it could weigh 288.25gr.  So I would be getting another 20fps maybe a bit more.  But wouldn't hit the broadside of a barn past 40 yards.  The bow shoots great and holds great which makes me look better.  Too much emphasis is put on speed when choosing a bow.  But if that is your main concern then that should be your driving force in choosing one.  A race car can drive faster but cannot be controled and wrecks.  Same goes for the speed of an arrow.  Give up accuracy and shootability for speed.  There is a happy medium.
