It was shot in 448 unit.  I didn't even plan on hunting that day went out to help a friend and his wife recover a doe that she hit that morning.   The doe was hit low in the front leg and never recovered  :bash:.  After searching the afternoon we split up and started doing circles in are search when I jumped this Buck.  I took a long shot and down he went after a little run.

Awesome buck! love the heavy antlers! I truely appreciate how tough it is to get a buck like that! Especially with a bow! It seems like every story about a good blackie involves a little luck. Just goes to show that you have to get out as much as possible and hope there is a little luck on your side that day! Great job man! :IBCOOL:

I didn't get him mounted.  I would have liked to do a European mount.  I still have it in the freezer.

Darn nice blackie, euro mount would look really neat with the heavy dark antlers on the white skull. Congrats on a nice blackie.

Nice blacktail!  Not great at guessing score, use the online calculator at Booneandcrockett.com  Should give you a rough idea.

I think 90 inches makes the book for archery on blacktail :dunno:.  i think my buck falls short of that mark but my dad got one a few years ago that i think would make the book.  i will try to find pics of that deer.

Nice looking deer.  I think any blacktail buck is a trophy deer.  Unless you have property and lots of apple trees or a great clear cut they are a challenge or at least used to be prior to trail cameras.
Cut em!
