Nice shots.  We have some flickers that come every morning.  I want to move the bird feeders next to a big evergreen tree in the back yard so I can try and get some shots.  I like the one of the bird flying.  Nice one.

 Thanks, got lucky on that one. These two males were battling it out, I think one of them is the same bird in the first photo.

I will be forever sad that I can no longer say "Red-shafted Flicker" but now have to say "Northern Flicker."

Oh well.  I guess I can still appreciate a cool picture when I see one.  Nice job!

 Thanks Joe. I find that bracketing is the way to go for birds most of the time (6 burst), the only issue with that is I have to sift through over 1,000 photo's every weekend :) to get a couple dozen keepers. I'm waiting for more blue sky like everyone else, the back lighting in most photo's right now isn't as good as it could be. May-August should be pretty fun, we have some bird trips planned over east and out to the coast.
