Updated april 7

This will be a running thread, updated periodically for the next week or so

I recently acquired a Harrington and Richardson .22lr sportster.  In response to my long range .22lr thread, I decided I would go ahead and do a shoot up of this gun as requested.  I will be attempting to push its range to the point of no usable accuracy.

For those of you on a budget this will be interesting to see how well a cheap gun with cheap ammo really can perform.  I just turned 18 and I don't have a very thick wallet, so this is what I was able to afford.

Stats
Gun - H&R .22lr sportster (under $180.00 new)
20 Inch nicely weighted barrel, break action plink machine.
Ammo - Remington Golden Bullet 36 grain plated lead hollow point (under $20.00 for 525 rds.)
Standard velocity 1280 fps Muzzle energy 131 ft lbs
Cheap Bipod
Cheap 4x32 scope

I will do 5 shot groups from distances ranging from 35 yards to 150 yards (hopefully  :chuckle:)

Note: I admit I am not an amazing shot by any means, I just plink for fun.  So please don't take this too seriously, its all for fun.  Wish me luck!

The gun (scope mounts are on the way, so scoped pictures will be up in a few days.)

The first shoot.  Thought I would go ahead and see how she does with simple out of the box iron sights.
-Distance is 35 yards 5 shots golden bullet.
Group size 1 1/8 Inch in diameter, shooting right about 1.5 inches, and high .5 inches.  Over all very happy with these results.

Cool. I've got a H&R 20 gauge for midwest whitetails. A bit more $$$$ to shoot but will do the job. Keep up the plinking and lets see what it will do.

This will be an interesting thread to follow.  Very cool idea and looking forward to your results.
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
If I ageed with you, then we'd both be wrong.

I met a guy at the warden coyote roundup that swore by his HR 22-250... Should be interesting...
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.
