Have tried it a few times. Didn't seem to work for me.

Rockfish and lingcod seem to like it.  I use to mix herring, shrimp and squid oil together and add a shot of WD-40 into it and they would hit that when everything else wouldnt work.  I also have caught steelhead with the same concoction by soaking a chunk of yarn behind a spin-n-glow.

Ah yes wd-40 one of it's many, many uses...

Worked great, couldn't even hear the lures squeek anymore :chuckle:

i mostly fish single barbless no bait areas and scents are not allowed in those areas.

No worries Josh, we will spray the other three and leave yours alone on this trip, just for a daily experiment. Make sure you bring a good book though :chuckle:

I use scent on my flies sometimes but don't consider WD a scent it's an anti-rust deterrent for my barbless hooks! hahahahaha
