 I think it depends.
Some of the areas I go, the bears are really skittish and won't come back if you hang around much. But in other spots they are always there, even when people are camping/shooting/riding nearby.

like billy said i think it really depends on the spot and the bears for example one spot i know there is constant people/car traffic and the bears dont seem to mind, another spot there usually isnt any people around until the DFW grunts start doing spawning surveys and such, this is when the bears in that area go completely noctural

What general area are you looking and are you hunting spring or fall?

Some of the horsemen in the Olympics tell me they encounter far more bears (and deer) when on horses than off.  With all the additional noise and scent, they said it would figure that the game would leave sooner.  They said they get closer too, and that the game seems to act a bit more natural.  Often times I can drive right up to deer on FS roads, but as soon as I open the door they run away.  Weird animals.

Same with riding a bike. I have ridden up on at least a half dozen bears.
