1898 krag help

I pick up a 1898 krag today it has been sporterized but not sure about some of the things. It has a 22" barrel but there is no rear sight on it or a hole for a rear sight. Only marks on the barrel is c121. I was thinking it may be a replacement barrel but not sure. Any one have any ideas on what this is. thanks
