Some of the 6.0 or 6.1 had problems but I will put my 97 7.3 against just about anything. 200,000 miles and have only replaced a cam sensor and an alternator.
OK
We'll start at the on ramp at Vantage.  You can take the lead down the on ramp.
I'll have had time to hit the john at Ryegrass before you even get parked.
I know.  I used to own a '97 with a PSD.

Now I know you anti Powerstroke guys don't know what the hell you are talking about.  Some of the 6.0 or 6.1 had problems but I will put my 97 7.3 against whatever you have. 200,000 miles and have only replaced a cam sensor and an alternator.  21 mpg running around and never less than 18 mpg towing 7 tons of hay.  Hell, I hate Bayliner boats, Suzuki anything, Ibanez guitars, and Ruger firearms but that does not mean that they are totally crap products and that anyone who owns one is an idiot.  It is very apparent that some of you need to grow up and join the adult world.

WHAT!?!?!?! BLASPHAMY!!!!!

get rope...we are stringing him up  :chuckle: :chuckle: I was fine with the whole truck debate but bashing ruger......my word whats next  :dunno: blondes  :dunno: :dunno:  :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

Laughing hysterically at this entire thread...good entertainment
Run, I put it up to make a point.  This whole bashing people for what they own is as stupid as second grade playground banter.  If these companies really put out inferior/crap products they would be out of business.  Once again it is ALL about personal preference.  By the way, I am a blonde so I won't be bashing them.  And I do own a LOT of Ford stock and it has done very well for me over the past couple of years so I guess they are not as bad as some would lead you to believe.   :IBCOOL:

Only if I am towing 7 ton of hay, otherwise, you might be surprised, just sayin'.  You gotta hit the john at Ryegrass because you have a girlish bladder or to let that Dodge cool off before it blows up?

And I do own a LOT of Ford stock and it has done very well for me over the past couple of years so I guess they are not as bad as some would lead you to believe.   :IBCOOL:

I wonder how when they have the biggest truck recall in history still going....I base my opinions on what I've had to fix as a mechanic and what just got serviced. Ford trucks in general were the most frequently repaired, I see accounts of people getting 200k and more out of a Ranger without problems and I have no clue how they manage that as all the ones I have dealt with were just a constant string of stuff being replaced as it broke or fell off the truck starting at about 100k if they were lucky.

Speaking of recalls...http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/money_co/2011/04/consumer-confidential-ford-truck-recall-zipcar-ipo-shares-offering-stocks-post-office-mail-rates-stamps.html

-- Ford has expanded its recall of the popular F-150 pickup truck to about 1.2 million vehicles because front-seat airbags could inflate without the vehicle being involved in a crash

Neat! I got to get me some of that action! You Ford lovers can keep 'em, you keep the parts guys and mechanics in business so I salute you for doing your part to help our economy :P

FWIW, I think Rugers suck too!
The reason there are so many Ruger upgrades is because they're necessary.

I like things short simple and to the point. Ford didn't bow down and take a gov bail out. Ford made a car its own employees could afford. There is a lot of history behind Henry Ford. Some mistakes along the way, but who can say they can walk on water? Ford started the autos and Ford is still American. More so than Chevy who coped out and bowed to the Feds.
