I've never been checked in Idaho, Washington or Montana.
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.

I was checked last year in the Clockum. He was a cool guy and we chatted for a bit, he gave me some tips and I told him what I had seen.

i was rifle deer hunting in on a gated off gravel road, and i was about 4 miles in from the gate. i was just about 400 yards from a fork in the road watching up in  a clear cut, he saw me and drove right to me to check me out.

Only once have I been asked about any of them.  The guy checked my broadheads and then my license.  Numerous times for license but nothing else.

I got pulled over at a game check at Oak Creek in 2004, didn't check anything except tag and licence.  I was on my way home from the Oakanogan area with a late season muley.  He did however tell me he needed a spinal stem sample and proceeded to butcher my cape in the process.  I finally told him to quit, he did concede his efforts but not before he made a mess of my best muley, it cost me an extra $50.00 to have my taxidermist sew it up. >:(

Been checked many times, usually for liscence and tag
2 a holes come to mind

1) Muzzleloading  years ago heading back (done for the day) to the truck at dusk, guy checks me (liscence & tag) then gives me a bad time for being still capped after legal shooting hours

2) Archery hunting, rolling a road looking for a good spot to park and go in, warden stops us and checks our liscence & tags, then spots the 20 guage on the back seat of the truck ( grouse gun) tells us he should fine us for having firearm in the field during archery season, that was a bit of an argument but at least no ticket

A sheriff came out and harassed me one year in the Nile for biking into a gated road.  I slapped him with regulations and he took off.  The warden came, but didn't say or check anything.

Never been checked while bow hunting, but looking at the new regs, they are now more worried about other piddly things. Things like an over-sized campfire, too many vehicles, not having your stupid tag thing hanging in your mirror, etc.  Typical for Washington though, these lazy asses don't want to do any leg work to bust poachers and what not, they just want to drive around and write f'ing parking tickets. Uhh, maybe I should of saved this for another thread but I wanted to vent a little:P

There's some truth to that. It's low hanging fruit that is almost guaranteed revenue.

I've been checked once rifle hunting in this state. I have never even seen a gamey bow hunting. I spent two week hunting the Toutle unit a couple of years ago, never got checked once.

got checked by a warden a few weeks ago archery huntin for turkies. he dident say a thing about the light on my sight{no batteries in it}. or the handgun on my side which he clearly saw because i was in a t shirt. he was an older guy, we chatted a bit, told me were some birds were, talked about phesant hunting, overall it was a good experince. was worried about the handgun tho. when he checked my licence he never even asked for an id.

I have never been checked for equipment/tags. However i have seen more and more people getting pulled over on logging roads and being ticketed by the wardens for not having a seatbelt  :o

I've been checked plenty of times, the last time was turkey hunting this spring in the Teannaway. I actually like to be checked because it means that they are out there trying to bust the bad guys who are ruining it for us law abiding citizens

I didn't think wardens could even give that type of ticket since it isn't hunting or fishing related......but I'm sure I'm wrong, just doesn't make sense that they would worry about that.  And, what is the law in regards to seatbelt use on logging roads?  I would think that if you're out on private timber company land (like Weyerhauser) that seatbelts shouldn't be required..... :dunno:  That sucks.

Gamies can give any ticket that a State Patrol can give. They are basically cops that patrol the woods as well.
