If I had the budget, I KNOW I would buy a Kimber ultra carry. Very nice carry sidearm.

Kimber Ultra CDP II, lovely gun, and a great shooter or you could go with this.

You should buy my Glock 30, .45ACP.  PERFECT CCW gun.  No sharp edges to snag on clothes, very concealable, but still has 10+1 capability and fits fully into your hand.  Less than 500 rounds through it and it comes with 3 magazines, two 10rd and one 9rd, magazine belt cases, boxes of Cor-Bon hollowpoints in 165gn (1 box), 185gn (2 boxes), and 230gn (1 box)

Or just buy a stock Glock 19 and trade me :)

I'd second that. I just got a Springfield .45 XD and love it as an everyday gun. I won mine at the RMEF dinner. Can't beat the price!

Can't loose with either of those mentioned, my choices would be the Kimber if cost was not a factor. Sig, or XD if it was.

got a kimber custom II, love the weapon no issues except it doesnt like blazer brass. for an everyday carry i think a full size 1911 is a bit much if i had no budget constraints id look at a kimber pro carry or ultra compact

Love this idea, too.
I carry a titanium 45acp revo on my hip for open carry.
I am not a fan of double stack 45's.

The original Dan Wesson 1911's made in USA before the CZ buy out may have been the best of the best 1911's ever made. I just happen to know someone who has an original Dan Wesson Pointman.  :chuckle:

I've put about 300 rounds through mine. Actually have had some probs with the factory mag. It doesn't feed the last round every time. I bought some CMC mags and they are working flawlessly. I LOVE LOVE LOVE 1911's

Hmmm. thats good info to know. I guess I should get out & shoot mine and see how it does

I agree on the 1911's sweet pistols for sure. I've been thinking about getting an original Colt Govt version. Been looking at a 1918 and I think a 1913...maybe someday soon...

I had a P220 for a number of years and that thing was a tack driver but man was it heavy on the hip for everyday carry. I would go with something lighter. Check the weight on each.

It's a .45 you can't go wrong with that!  I've only fired a springfield 1911 and owned a Glock 21 for my duty weapon and personal weapon and didn't have any complaints.  Good choice either way.  When a banger tries to pull his 22 or 9 just pull the 45 and let'em know one shot, one kill.

You have bangers in God's country?

You better believe it!  This past fall I and the wife were scouting some new area and when we were coming out we ran into this crappy little tonka toy (toyota) with a couple of punks that tried to get tough and disrespectful towards my wife and hot damn that s**t don't fly with me.  I informed them really quick how easy it would be for me to send them before THE MAN before they got a chance to pull their cute little pocket pistols out!  While "talking" with them they mentioned they had been following our tracks for some time.  Just another reason why I pack 24/7.
