HOME TARGET RANGE
« on: April 18, 2011, 11:57:45 AM »
Made great progress on my target range this weekend.  100 yrd rifle and 50 yrd pistol stations with a launcher installed for clays over the pond.  Shooting bench, pistol rest and pistol target station built and finished.

I have used all scrap lumber and materials I have scavenged.  Traded a horse for the Excavation work.  So this project so far has been Zero out of pocket.

Excavator will be coming next week to dig out the hillside and finish the back stop.

Was able to put a few rounds down range but with 20 mph winds yesterday and today didn't want to waste anymore ammo.  Can't wait for all the summer shooting.

There's a reason they call it hunting, not killing.

Thts a good trade considering hay will likely be $300 a ton come summer!  :yike:
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

Nice looking range.  My dad did a 50' tunnel in his basement with electronic target returns.  That is where I used to practice during the week when I used to shoot a lot of small bore and handgun.
Cut em!
It's not the shells!  It's the shooter!

Great part about this neighborhood is the few I do have shoot as much if not more than me.   Will be fun to do some shooting with friends this summer.  Hoping to schedule a Little "Log Killing" competition for the big bore pistol guys this summer.
