Who Is Hunting Around Belfair This Year ?
« on: April 28, 2011, 04:46:20 PM »
The only area i know around me and the area i have spent alot of time in has been the mountian side of Belfair. Just curious if anyone else is in the same area. Dont want your spot of honey hole , just dont want to be in the way or spoil an area or food plot either so i will stay way clear of it. I focus on the area around Tiger Lake. Tiger Mission Road in the clearcuts and such.

I run this area a bit also.  The Tiger Lake area is ok, a few little blackies, and a few bears running here and there.  Over the past 2 or 3 years though the pressure has increased due to being close to Bremerton and Silverdale.  If your wanting a better hunt with better animals, jump across the canal.  If your just wanting an afternoon hunt to get out of the house, then stay on this side.   :twocents: :dunno:

And one more aspect I forgot to mention is all the traffic of the dirtbikes, quads, jeeps, horseback riders, and hikers.  You really have to pay attention to who and what is out tramping thru the area, and what they are doing.  Had a few stalks ruined do to someone "unknowingly" coming down a trail, or making a racket, or just out being stupid.  Once again, only my  :twocents:

Greatly appreciated Arrowhead. I will have to try it. Any general areas to go check out over there? I always see deer on the hill at the Chimicum cutoff but i have never hunted anywhere over there. I am very new and just learning how to hunt in general. I hunt archery only. Please PM me if you would be willing. I dont mind driving even for a day hunt. Thanks again for the advice.

I often see bear poo on the bike trails around Sand Hill rd. The bears are used to the people and OHV's running around there.

Yes there are a few out there.  I am surprised that there hasnt been a problem with bear - human contact so far.  With all the idiots that dump there trash out in the forest, the bears have gotten quite accustomed to their presence and think theres a free meal everytime.  Its only going to take one fool to make a mistake.

I hunt in Kitsap near the Mason line once in a while. But most of my time is spent across the Hood Canal bridge too. Get out for a drive and check out Spider lake area, Gibbs lake ect. Some big genes going on around Gibbs!
