Saw a ton of poults today.
« on: July 22, 2008, 04:49:28 PM »
I saw a lot of very small poults today with there hens. They were softball size or smaller. Does this seam unusual to you. I'd think they'd be at least half the size of momma by now. Don't believe I've seen such a late hatch. Normal????   :dunno:

poult (plt)
n.
A young fowl, especially a turkey, chicken, or pheasant

Maybe because of the wet weather this spring they had another "Hatch" so some of the chicks have a chance !!  :dunno:

Probably similar to others where they can have two hatches. I know when grouse get their first hatch killed due to conditions or prey they can have another hatch later.
