XDM 40 all they way 16+1 and the best semi auto on the market. Period! I have shot them all and can own any of them. But I trust my life every day to my xdm 40. The m&p 2ND " they are a very good gun" but I have found the ones that I have shot to be picky on ammo. You could not pay me to own a glock. I have shot a dz or more of them and never liked the fit or the groups that I have got from them. Plus had more malfunctions with glocks. I have run a little over 1k rounds threw my xdm and not had 1 malfunction or problem.

I own an XDm .40, haven't really shot it a whole lot. It is reliable and I like how it fits my hand. I have shot the M&P .40, another reliable gun, didn't really fit my hand all that well compared to the XDm though I like the trigger on this gun better than the XDm. I have shot a couple glocks in .40 and .45 there slimmer grips fit my hand well and I really like the trigger compared the other two you are comparing. They are all reliable guns, it is just going to come down to what you like and don't like. If it was me I would go with the glock first, m&p second and xd last.

Whatever feels better in your hand. For me its the M&P, i own a 40 and 45. I also have a xd9 and like it. i dislike glocks. I have put 14200rds through my 45 M&P and it eats whatever ammo ive fed it

XD's are great guns, XD(m)'s are the cream of the Springfield poly pistol crop, I've shot plenty of Glocks and XD's, the XD's have all been great. I have never yet been impressed with a Glock but they are very good guns, shoot both if you can, go out of your way to shoot and learn as many pistols as possible.
The reason there are so many Ruger upgrades is because they're necessary.

I like my xd too.  A few of my friends have them as well, never a problem.  No experience with the others but sounds like you have a tough decision.

Soooooo many 9mm users.

I still say to each their own...it's obvious that any one of the 3 choices would be a great one...you just got to find what you like and what fits you well.

You gotta try out the walther and the H&K's too. The P99 with the Decocker is super sweet and super safe.

only a thousand rounds that's it? hmmm well keep shooting, the gentleman behind the counter at bullseye in tacoma has over 13,000 rounds through his glock 23 which is all stock, and yes i did say thirteen thousand. so maybe if you did have problems it was user error? Ive owned both never had any problems both great guns, i prefer the glock over the xd just because i don't like how bulky the top is. my glocks and my xd shot great groups, i dont think you can always blame it on the gun but the shooter. the gun at bulleye looking like crap all worn out, but shoots great groups and keeps on firing.  :yike:
